The Bible is full of inspiring verses that celebrate the goodness of God. His goodness shines through even in the most dire of circumstance. Praising God and celebrating His goodness throughout our day is a life-transforming activity. It teaches us to lift our thoughts from the trials and tribulations of life to wonder at the eternal goodness and mercy of our loving God. The book of Psalm stands out as a remarkable celebration of God’s goodness; one of my favourite Bible verses is in Psalm 107:

Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness,

And for His wonders to the sons of men

For He has satisfied the thirsty soul,
And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good. (Psalm 107:8,9, ESV)

Here is a short, but by no means complete, list of Bible verses about God’s goodness for you to read and meditate on.

Psalm 100:5 — For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

2 Chronicles 7:3 — When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the LORD above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “He is good; his love endures forever.”

1 Timothy 4:4–5 — For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.

Isaiah 63:7 — I will tell of the kindnesses of the LORD, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the LORD has done for us

Psalm 147:1 — Praise the LORD. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

Exodus 15:2 — The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Psalm 100:5 — For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

2 Samuel 7:28 — And now, O Lord God, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.

Psalm 56:4 — In God, whose word I praise– in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

How have you experienced God’s goodness in your own life?
